On September 19, 2024, the Manningham Council hosted an important event in recognition of Dementia Awareness Day. Our team, MindAge was proud to participate in a talk designed to enhance understanding and awareness of dementia in the community. The event was held at the Ted Ajani Centre in Templestowe Lower and featured a collaboration with esteemed geriatrician Dr. Dennis Wong from Prime Garden Aged Care.
The objective of the talk was to educate the general public about dementia, a condition that affects countless individuals and their families. As part of our presentation, MindAge introduced our new one-stop professional services tailored specifically for people living with dementia, as well as their families and caregivers. These services aim to provide comprehensive support, ensuring that those affected by dementia receive the help and community resources they need.
Participants were actively engaged throughout the session, contributing to a vibrant community discussion. The interactive activities encouraged participants to share their thoughts and ask questions, fostering a deeper understanding of dementia and its implications. The enthusiasm and involvement of the community highlighted the importance of awareness and education in addressing this complex issue.
